Blog / RODI Showcases Agroecology Innovations at the Uasin Gishu ASK Show
Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Shows provide an important platform for farmers, organizations, and innovators to exchange knowledge and showcase solutions that strengthen agriculture and community livelihoods. During the recent ASK Show, RODI Kenya proudly participated by showcasing practical agroecological innovations aimed at promoting sustainable farming and climate resilience.
At the RODI stand, visitors explored several sustainable agricultural practices designed to improve soil health, increase productivity, and reduce dependence on chemical inputs. The exhibition focused on practical approaches that farmers can easily adopt to improve their livelihoods and protect the environment.
Key agroecological practices showcased included:
Biofertilisers and Biopesticides – natural solutions that enhance soil fertility and control pests in an environmentally friendly way.
Reintegration Success Story
Another highlight at the RODI stand was the inspiring story of a former prisoner who benefited from RODI’s reintegration training program. Through the skills she gained, she has successfully established a small business selling hygiene and sanitation products, enabling her to support herself and meet her daily needs. Her journey demonstrates the power of skills training in transforming lives and promoting economic independence.
Governor Visits the RODI Stand
The stand also received a visit from Jonathan Bii, Governor of Uasin Gishu County, who interacted with the team and learned more about the organization’s work in promoting agroecology and community empowerment.
RODI’s participation in the ASK Show reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture, empowering communities, and creating opportunities that support resilient livelihoods.
