RODI Kenya, through the Agroecology for Climate Resilience (A4CR) Project, successfully conducted a training for Government Agricultural Extension Officers in West Pokot County, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills to promote sustainable agriculture among farming communities.
The training focused on organic bio-inputs and broader agroecological practices that enable farmers to improve soil fertility, reduce dependence on synthetic agricultural inputs, and build resilience to the impacts of climate change. Participants received hands-on experience in the preparation and application of organic bio-inputs and explored sustainable farming techniques that enhance soil health, biodiversity, and long-term agricultural productivity.
Agricultural extension officers serve as an essential link between research, innovation, and farmers. By strengthening their capacity, the A4CR Project ensures that agroecological knowledge reaches farming households across West Pokot, enabling communities to adopt environmentally friendly and climate-resilient farming practices.
This initiative reflects RODI Kenya's commitment to promoting sustainable food systems, improving livelihoods, and supporting farmers with practical, locally adapted solutions that contribute to food security and environmental conservation.
