Blog / Rose – From Teacher to Farmer
Rose, a teacher at Lioki Primary School, was not involved in farming before RODI Kenya introduced agricultural training at the school.
Through the training provided by RODI Kenya trainers, she was introduced to practical farming and began with chicken farming.
She also received avocado seedlings, which have since grown and started producing fruit.
For Rose, the experience changed the way she viewed agriculture and encouraged her to begin farming herself.
“Before RODI Kenya came, I was not a farmer. Through the training, I was introduced to farming, started keeping chickens and planted avocado seedlings. Now the avocado trees have started producing.”
Her story demonstrates how agricultural knowledge can influence not only students, but also teachers and the wider school community.
