On 22nd May 2026, RODI Kenya joined other stakeholders in the Phase II Tree Planting & Catchment Restoration Exercise organized by Athi Water Works Development Agency at Kieni Forest.
The environmental restoration initiative brought together partners including Equity Bank, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), KGS, Idols, and other organizations dedicated to promoting sustainable environmental management and climate action.
The exercise focused on restoring degraded forest and catchment areas through tree planting activities aimed at improving water conservation, enhancing biodiversity, and strengthening ecosystem resilience. Forest restoration remains an important step towards addressing the impacts of climate change while safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
As part of its commitment to agroecology, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment, RODI Kenya actively supports initiatives that encourage responsible environmental stewardship and collaborative action among institutions and communities.
The participation of diverse stakeholders demonstrated the importance of partnerships in achieving long-term environmental conservation goals and restoring critical water catchment ecosystems across Kenya.
RODI Kenya appreciates the efforts of all organizers, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of the exercise and reaffirmed the shared commitment towards creating greener, healthier, and more resilient communities.
